Wednesday
Happy Wednesday!
With one week to go, we are still keeping busy in the classroom.
So far this week, we have looked at different ways to measure time using standard and nonstandard units. Today, we created our own calendars to relate the passage of time to common activities. Tomorrow, we will practice measuring weight in both grams and kilograms.
We have also been working hard on our nonfiction animal books. Last week, we began conducting research on an animal of our choice and we are now using this information to create our own books using a program called Book Creator. In addition to this, we have been working as a class to build our own micronation. We have decided on what rights our nation should have and elected a leader after listening to a few different speeches.
With the school year coming to a close, review is essential for the retention of the knowledge that we have gained this year. Razz Kids and IXL are great options for this. I have also listed various websites that we have used in Social Studies and Science this year under the subject tabs.
Updates/reminders:
- Popcorn Day tomorrow
- Monday is Sports Day
- Last day of classes is June 27th (half-day)
- Please send students to school with an extra bag (cloth or plastic will do) as I will be sending home their work and other belongings over the next week
