Happy Wednesday!

Can you believe there are only 10 more school days left?

We have been trying to make the most of the time we have! Take a peek inside of our classroom to see how:











Over the past few days, we have been talking about goods and services. Ask me to explain how both of these things can impact our quality of life. 

We have also been having a blast swimming. Some of us were a little afraid of the water at first but are beginning to become more confident. 

In science, we have been discussing endangered animals. Today we chose an animal to research and are in the middle of creating a poster explaining a little bit about the threats that are facing our chosen animal.

Updates/reminders:
- Please ensure that all Learning Commons and Home Reading books are returned
- Although we are no longer sending home books, students may access Razz Kids for leveled books
- IXL is great for end of the year math review - it is aligned with the Alberta Curriculum and has sections on all of the concepts that we have learned this year

Good evening! I hope everyone is doing well. To discover what we have been learning this week, ask your child all or a few of the following questions: What is sound? How do we hear? What is your favorite addition strategy? Consistent review of these strategies is very important for proficiency. See the previous blog post for the strategies that we have gone over. Where did the time go?!  We had a busy week at Ken Taylor School in preparation for the holiday season but it was a success! Our class did a great job today performing their Hot Chocolate dance during the assembly which was followed by a wonderful morning filled with acts of kindness. The grade 3 team delivered thank you cards for the entire school staff, helped out with organizational tasks around the school, and distributed homemade compliment presents to one another.   We also recently tweeted out a smile on Twitter that we hope to spread to all parts of the world. Hello everyone! We have been hard at work in our classroom from constructing instruments, practicing multiplication, discussing cultural differences, and practicing writing with transition words to help our ideas flow together. Here's a sneak peek from the past few days... Valentine's Day! Just a quick reminder, students are welcome, but not required, to bring in valentines for their peers tomorrow but please ensure that they include everyone in the class to avoid hurt feelings. See the blog post from Friday for a class list. Students are also welcome to bring in a special snack to eat in the afternoon while we read a story. Due to allergies, we will not be sharing any food.
