Friday
Happy Friday!
I hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather that we had today.
We had a great week full of excitement with the different spirit days throughout the week.
In math, we finished looking at the various attributes of 2D and 3D shapes. Today we learned how to find the perimeter of a shape.
In science, we studied the life cycles of several different animals and began looking at the potential effects of negative environmental impacts. We wrote an opinion paragraph today based on the story Hey, Little Ant. Do you think ants deserved to be squished? Checkout the science links page for access to the games that we have played in class to learn about different aspects of animal life cycles.
In language arts, we have been practicing elaborating on various critical story elements such as important objects, settings, and characters. We also discussed to use of effective versus ineffective adjectives.
In social studies, we have been reviewing quality of life and identity. We are in the midst of creating an art piece that reflects our character traits and what is important to us.
Updates/reminders:
- Swimming begins on Monday (June 11th) - please pack a swimsuit, extra undergarments, a towel, and a bag in addition to your child's backpack so that they can carry their swim supplies to the pool without having to bring their whole backpack. If possible, it would be easiest if students wore their swimsuit under their clothes to school to minimize changing time.
