Wednesday
Happy Wednesday!
I hope everyone is having a good week so far.
A peek inside of our classroom so far this week:
Earlier this week, we completed our floral landscape artwork and wrote artist statements to go with our masterpieces. We are pleased with how they turned out!
In language arts, we having been discussing how to write an effective story beginning. Ask me to explain how this can be done!
In math, we finished up patterns and have started geometry. So far we have discussed 2D shapes and how they can be classified. Ask me to explain how we can tell shapes apart and how they can be sorted (hint: what is a polygon? What are the three different types of angles?)
In science, we completed our research on the different classifications of animals including insects, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and fish. We also created our own wild selves! Tomorrow, we will use our creations and our knowledge of how animals are classified to classify the animals that we used in our wild self creation. Next week, we will begin looking at lifecycle examples.
Updates/Reminders:
- Swimming forms due back ASAP
- Home Reading and Learning Commons books due back next week - we will not be taking anymore books out of the Learning Commons or sending anymore Home Reading books home to prepare for the end of the school year
