Friday
Happy Friday!
We began our morning today with a student meeting in the gym to discuss a new school initiative called "Open Entry". The intent behind this initiative is to help students prepare their mind and body for the day of learning ahead. Starting on Monday, every morning our doors will open at 7:45am. Students are not required to be here at this time, but by doing this, we are allowing students to enter when they arrive at school rather than waiting outside. Students will trickle in as they arrive for the day. They can go through the main door, the door closest to the Drop and Go by the kindergarten classrooms, or the doors right off Evanston View, near the CSSI rooms (currently where grade 2 students enter). Students will come in to the class and drop off their coats/shoes and put on their indoor shoes. They then have the choice to participate in an activity of their choice until the bell rings to signal the beginning of classes at 8:00am. We know this is a change in routine, but one that as a school we strongly believe will be beneficial for families, students, and staff. We look forward to this new change on Monday! Don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions!

In class today, we spent time discussing water access and the type of water that we need to survive. Ask me to explain more about this! Earlier this week, we also discussed the power of triangles and how they are used to build different structures. There are three S's that explain the ways in which triangles are powerful. Ask me to find out what the three S's are!
Don't forget that on Monday we will be going on our water walk so please dress appropriately for the weather!
Enjoy the weekend!
