Wednesday
Hello everyone!
I hope everyone had a good break.
So far this week in our classroom, we have been getting back into the swing of things. We picked up where we left off with subtraction and have continued to learn about hearing and sound. This week, we are looking at how animals hear in comparison to humans! During our literacy block, we have been looking at different types of sentences that we can use in our writing - statements, questions, commands, and exclamations. Ask your child to provide you with an example of each! In social studies, we will be looking deeper into what makes a global citizen and how our actions can have an impact around the world.
We have also discussed growth mindset and goal setting to kick off the new year. Each student has set a personal word-goal that they are working towards. We set action steps to achieve these goals and will be assessing our progress in the coming while.

Please note: If your child has old home reading books at home, please return them so that they can be sent home with a new book to practice!
Upcoming:
- Student-Led conferences will be held on January 25th and 26th - I look forward to meeting everyone!
- Popcorn Day January 17th and 18th
- Fun Lunch January 19th
