Picture Retakes:
With our recent classroom modifications in grade three, we would like to have photographs of these classes as well.  On Wednesday, November 15th the photographers will be at our school for retakes and will take the grade three class photos as well.

Poinsettia Fundraiser:

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Last week, The Fundraising Association sent home our latest fundraiser. Until November 23rd we will be selling beautiful poinsettias, Christmas wreaths and arrangements. Last year this fundraiser was a great success!  For each item sold the school receives $7-9.  These funds will be used for such things as the playground, technology for the school, books, school presentations and other school items for the classrooms.

Good evening! I hope everyone is doing well. To discover what we have been learning this week, ask your child all or a few of the following questions: What is sound? How do we hear? What is your favorite addition strategy? Consistent review of these strategies is very important for proficiency. See the previous blog post for the strategies that we have gone over. Where did the time go?!  We had a busy week at Ken Taylor School in preparation for the holiday season but it was a success! Our class did a great job today performing their Hot Chocolate dance during the assembly which was followed by a wonderful morning filled with acts of kindness. The grade 3 team delivered thank you cards for the entire school staff, helped out with organizational tasks around the school, and distributed homemade compliment presents to one another.   We also recently tweeted out a smile on Twitter that we hope to spread to all parts of the world. You can help to spread this smile by logging onto Twitter and retweeting the tweet linked below. Hello everyone! We have been hard at work in our classroom from constructing instruments, practicing multiplication, discussing cultural differences, and practicing writing with transition words to help our ideas flow together. Here's a sneak peek from the past few days... Valentine's Day! Just a quick reminder, students are welcome, but not required, to bring in valentines for their peers tomorrow but please ensure that they include everyone in the class to avoid hurt feelings. See the blog post from Friday for a class list. Students are also welcome to bring in a special snack to eat in the afternoon while we read a story. Due to allergies, we will not be sharing any food.
