Good evening!
So far this week, we have continued to practice building our number sense through “Number of the Day” and, a new addition to our math routine, Prodigy! Prodigy is an online math program that the students can access both at school and at home. It was a hit in our classroom on Monday! We will use this program to review concepts that we have discussed and practiced in other lessons.
In science, we have been delving deeper into our study of hearing and sound. Today we discussed how sound travels through our ears to our brain. We were introduced to numerous new scientific vocabulary terms which we will practice using as we continue with our unit of study.
During our literacy block, we have spent time discussing different ways in which we can add descriptive details to our writing. Our goal is to help our readers picture what we are writing about by showing our ideas with detailed descriptions rather than simply telling. We have also been practicing making connections to what we are reading. This helps to deepen our comprehension.
